Fall Study & Supervision Groups

An Introduction to Psychodyanamic Psychotherapy Technique

 

Offered this Fall beginning in October for a 6 session group study and supervision  on the "how to" of psychodynamic technique--the ins and outs of for those of you involved in any way with dyanmaic therapy.

 

You will expand your understanding of psychodyanamic language, starting with the beginning , history taking, formulation and how to determine if clients are suited for this modality, the ongoing therapy, empathic attunement, defensive patterns, endings, and how best to use supervision.

The group is limited to six participants who will each have an opportunity to present one client for consultation. We will begin with a discussion of the assigned readings, take a brief break and spend the last hour on a client presentation. 

Required Text: Introduction to Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Technique (Second Edition) by Sarah Fels Usher. Assigned Journal Articles will be provided by Susan.

Working with the Developmental Trauma of Childhood Neglect

 

Beginning on September 18th for an 8 session group study on using Psychotherapy and Attachment Theory Techniques in Clinical Practice.

Dates: Friday's-10:30am-1pm

September 18, 25, October 9, 30, 

November 13, 27, December 4, 11, 2026

Using client examples, you will learn how to recognize and approach the clinical complexities of neglect. Easier to catch when their is the memory of the injuries, and much harder with the "nothing happened", vague memories, if any. These complexities are what we refer to as the small "T" traumas. 

The group is limited to eight participants who will each have an opportunity to present one client for consultation. We will begin with a discussion of the assigned reading, take a brief break, and end with a client presentation.

Required Text: Working with the Develpmental Trauma of Childhood Neglect by Ruth Cohn. Assigned Journal Articles will be provided by Susan.

The fee is $75 per group with a commitment to attend the 8 sessions. Eligible for 2.5 hours of supervision each.
